CARES is dedicated to serving social work practitioners and decision makers who work with older and disabled adults and their families. We have enjoyed a productive relationship with the Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS) since 1987. We regularly offer ten curricula for adult services social workers, managers, and other human services providers who work with older adults and their families. CARES worked with DAAS and the Senior Center Development Task Force to develop a process and tools for strengthening senior centers around the state. CARES also collaborates with DAAS to offer a one-day event for directors of senior centers on the certification process and participates in delivering training modules of the Ann Johnson Institute for Senior Center Management.
FCRP exists to support those seeking to improve the lives of families and children. In pursuit of this goal we have collaborated with a variety of partners, including the US Children's Bureau (USDHHS), NC Division of Social Services, public and private child welfare agencies, NC Governor's Crime Commission, The Duke Endowment, and others. Since 1993, we have helped NC to develop and deliver training for child welfare professionals, build a web-based information system to support training, lead and evaluate permanency-focused system reform efforts, hold statewide children's services conferences, produce education publications for social workers and foster parents, and improve outcomes for children in foster care.
